I don’t know about you, but I sure do love my greens.

Out of the three food groups, I think what appeals most to me now is getting that glow on. Vegheads can I get an Amen”?

When I was younger, I even considered becoming a vegetarian but my doctor advised against it, saying that the lifestyle just wasn’t fit for my colorful medical history. Let’s just say I was a sickly kid who really needed protein.

I don’t even have to tell you why vegetables are good for you. But just in case you’ve been living under a rock (or on another planet!), they’re rich in fiber, and loaded with vitamins and antioxidants. To top it all off, eating more greens may mean you consume less meat. I don’t want to get into the entire plants have feelings too” argument. Don’t get me started. What I do want to point out though, is that my wanting to be a vegetarian sprang from my love for animals. And while I had to push myself to get over it, I have a lot of respect for people who’re on a strictly no-meat diet.

But if you’re also anything like me, there are days you don’t even have time to make coffee let alone go to the (super)market for some decent shopping.

And while there are many green groceries that can do the job for you, there are other sustainable options you can explore if you want fresh veggies delivered to your home.

Some local farms offer delivery services in certain parts of Metro Manila. And you aren’t the only one benefitting from this convenience. By ordering from them, you also get to help local farmers by supporting their livelihood.

So next time you don’t have time to shop for groceries, or when you just want to show love for our local farmers, here’s a list of farms that’ll actually deliver freshly harvested produce to you doorstep.
