LIST: 6 pet-friendly hotels for your next vacation
No more missing your pet while you're away
Apr 26, 2019
Prepping your home before you go on vacation can be quite a challenge, especially for pet owners. Not only do you have to double check that everything in your house is in order, but you also have to make sure that your pet’s needs are met for the whole duration that you’re gone. Social animals like dogs shouldn’t be left alone for a long time so it’s important that you either ask someone to pet sit for you or you leave them in a pet boarding house.
But if you can’t stand the thought of leaving (and missing) your pets while you’re on vacation, what’s a pet owner like you to do? You bring them with you, of course. Whether you’re staying in Manila or visiting nearby provinces, bookmark these resorts that allow you to take your furry pals on vacation, too.
Laiya, San Juan, Batangas
Located at the coastline of Laiya, Acuaverde prides itself as one of the friendliest beach resorts to pets. They allow a maximum of two pets per guest, with a corresponding fee of P900 per pet. They also have pet-friendly facilities on site such as a couple of pet waste stations around the resort, dog houses, and even a pet zone that allows your pets to mingle with others. Acuaverde also hosts several pet events throughout the year.
17 ADB Ave, Ortigas Center (Topaz Road Entrance), Pasig
You don’t need to head out of town for a change of scenery. In that case, just choose from Manila’s countless hotels and resorts. For pet owners, you might want to add Joy Nostalg to your radar. Situated at the heart of Pasig, Joy Nostalg is an upscale serviced apartment that welcomes pets, too.
Only one pet is allowed inside the room and if you’re bringing one, let them know ahead of time so they can prepare a pet bed and chew toy in your room. Take note that guests are required to pay a refundable security deposit fee upon check-in.
Santa Rosa-Tagaytay Rd., Tagaytay
Ah, Tagaytay—everyone’s favorite weekend getaway destination. If you’re heading there some time soon, here’s an idea: Asian Village Tagaytay lets your pets stay with you for free. And if that’s not enough, did we mention you can bring your pet to the resort’s outdoor movie screening held every Saturday, too?
Do note that only small pets (one pet per guest) are allowed in the resort. Pets are also required to be on a leash and wear a diaper while outdoors. Don’t forget to tell them ahead of time if you’re bringing your pet.
80 Buton St., Sitio Labasin, Sabang Beach, Baler, Aurora
If you’re planning a surfing trip up north, try Costa Pacifica—a pet-friendly resort in Baler. Be sure to bring your pet’s medical certification with a complete and updated list of all vaccinations. Pet owners are also required to bring their own pet food, bowls, litter box, medicine, and other important items. Other amenities of the resort include free surfing lessons as well.
Alley 2 Buton St., Brgy. Sabang, Baler, Aurora
Another pet-friendly resort in Aurora is Surfhouse Baler. It’s a mid-market pet-friendly accommodation located in Sabang—Baler’s most notable surfing spot. There are no additional cleaning fees on top of its room rates. Feel free to walk your fur babies along the beachfront because the resort’s just by Sabang beach, plus it’s within walking distance of restaurants and establishments.
88 Paterno St. South Drive, Baguio
Good news, Baguio visitors: Your pets are highly welcome at St. Patrick Village, plus they’re quite lenient on their pet policies, too. Generally, guests are expected to be responsible for their pet’s food, behavior, and grooming. There are no extra fees if you’re bringing your pet with you as well.
