Step aside, Yakult soju! While we love this tummy-friendly alcoholic drink, surely there is more to this probiotic drink than a Korean-inspired concoction. Our mates from down under know this, and as early as May this year, Yakult Australia has been posting dessert recipes using the beloved drink.

What recipes, you ask? No-bake cheesecake, cheesecake balls, overnight oats and white chocolate mousse and panna cotta by our very own Miko Aspiras, who’s the executive pastry chef at Hilton Sydney.

“[This is] the most decadent recipe that I have made using Yakult yet!” Aspiras said in a post, where he shared a sneak peek of his sultry white chocolate and Yakult mousse recipe, made exclusively for the Japanese probiotic drink brand.

His recipe uses five bottles for the Yakult jelly, which is then layered with white chocolate mousse and lady sponge fingers to create the dessert.

This is already the second dessert Aspiras created for the brand. In July, he made a pear panna cotta incorporating another variant, Yakult Light. This one is far more complicated than the mousse as it is made of four components: the Yakult Light panna cotta, a honey granola mix, grilled pears and coconut cream.

Yakult Australia’s first collaboration with Aspiras came out in May, a no-bake cheesecake recipe with a Yakult-cream cheese base and a white chocolate-corn cereal crust.

Outside of its collaboration with Aspiras, the Australian side of Yakult has also posted their own cheesecake recipe that’s also no-bake, beginner-friendly, and comes in fun ball form.

Made with just seven ingredients, the lemon cheesecake bliss balls can be made with your choice of Yakult variant, original or light. Plus, you can create it in less than 10 minutes because you just need to put everything into a food processor and roll them into bite-sized balls.

We don’t know about you but we are willing to blow our Yakult stash (yes, its sales are still being restricted in some stores) to try these recipes.
