Eva Noblezada will star as Daisy Buchanan in the new ‘Gatsby’ musical

Theater fans, history is about to happen in New York—again. Eva Noblezada (of “Yellow Rose” and Broadway fame) will be returning to the stage as Daisy Buchanan in Paper Mill Playhouse’s brand new musical based on the iconic American novel, “The Great Gatsby.”

Noblezada will be starring opposite multi-award winning Broadway veteran Jeremy Jordan as the enigmatic and obsessive Jay Gatsby.

The musical will be featuring a pop and jazz-inspired score, which reflects the tumultuous and exciting landscape of the roaring twenties. Note that this is completely unrelated to the Florence Welch “Gatsby” project, which is slated to premier next year.

Aside from an all-star top bill, the team behind the musical is composed of heavy hitters. The book is written by Kait Kerrigan (of Kerrigan and Lowdermilk) and features a score produced by Tony-nominated Jason Howland and Nathan Tysen. Marc Bruni, who also directed “Beautiful: The Carole King Musical” is slated to direct.

Noblezada rose to acclaim after starring as Kim in the West End revival of Miss Saigon. She then reprised the role in 2017 for the musical’s Broadway revival, which earned her a Tony nomination for Best Actress.

In 2019, Noblezada starred opposite Broadway legend and Filipino icon Lea Salonga in “Yellow Rose.” This was also Noblezada’s feature film debut.

Paper Mill Playhouse’s production of The Great Gatsby will run from Oct. 12 to Nov. 12, with the opening night scheduled for Oct. 22.
