A wide range of homegrown designers and aesthetics will soon be at your fingertips, as PHL Designers sets up shop in The Social on Ebro, in Poblacion. The boutique will be bringing in a roster of independent designers under their roof, each with their own take on the country’s idiosyncratic local aesthetic.
For their opening week, PHL Designers will be featuring designers Twinkle Ferraren and Tipay Caintic. Twinkle Ferraren is an island-wear fashion designer who draws inspiration from art dreams and the tropics. Her collections make use of natural and indigenous materials, made in collaboration with artisans and tribes around the country.
Twinkle’s collections have been featured in fashion shows and art galleries in Makati and all over the country, and abroad.
Tipay Caintic, meanwhile, describes her clothing collection as “cheeky designer clothing ethically made with love in the Philippines.” Tipay uses a combination of 3D knits, upcycled and handwoven local fabrics, and in-house embroidery to produce colorful and worldly pieces.
She has showcased her collections in Manila FAME, Manila Fashion Festival, in various events in Manila and Makati City, and in international events such as the London Fashion Week and in Japan.
PHL Designers is slated to bring in collections by STEPHVERANO, Orias Essentials, Bryan Peralta, Randolf, and Harvic Dominguez. The pop-up boutique will also be featuring collections from Happy Andrada, who will be launching her Happy Jammies collection on Aug. 9.
PHL Designers is located at 5770 Ebro Poblacion, Makati City. It is open on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m., Fridays and Saturdays from 5 p.m. to 1 a.m., and Sundays from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m.
