With each passing day, technology’s capabilities are slowly growing.
Home assistant devices have moved beyond just being able to carry out simple tasks: voice command now enables people to control the lights or appliances, play music, and more. Sensors that detect when there is activity around doors or windows, and changes in temperature are constantly being refined; and the country’s wifi connection is being improved to be faster and more stable.
More than just helping homes improve, smart home technology can be used to craft experiences— which is what Globe at Home did for halloween.
On Oct. 30, the telecommunications company partnered with Ayala Alabang Village to put together a Halloween Mansion: which uses a home automation system powered by a fiber connection in order to craft a digital halloween experience using a variety of smart home devices.
A tour of the mansion is initiated by the Amazon Echo Spot, which guides visitors through specific areas of the mansion that they can experience or interact with. Areas of the mansion are fitted with colored bulbs and fog machines for ambiance, and the MiBox S television box in order to project graphics.
The bulbs, fog machines, and the television box are triggered by multipurpose sensors, which can detect when doors, windows, or cabinets are opened. All of these are connected to a main WiFi hub, which controls all of the devices through a mobile app.
