As of Apr. 8, Cebu Pacific and Philippine Airlines (PAL) have announced that all domestic and international flights from Apr. 15 to 30 will be canceled due to the extension of the enhanced community quarantine.
For Cebu Pacific passengers who have booked a flight during this period, they can opt to rebook or avail of a travel fund or a refund. Rebooking fees and fare differences on new flights booked within the next three months will be waived. The original ticket price can also be placed into a travel fund instead and be used to book a different flight. Cebu Pacific is also allowing full refunds that will be processed by May 4, after the community quarantine is lifted. However, this process can take as long as three to four billing cycles.
They will also be allowing free rebooking for passengers with booked flights from May 1 to Sept. 30, but fare difference may apply. They can also opt to transfer the cost of their ticket to a different flight as far as one year ahead.
These can be done through the “Manage Booking” portal in the Cebu Pacific website.
Passengers of Philippine Airlines (PAL) also have the option of unlimited and free rebooking and rerouting. The first rebooking will waive the fare difference and the succeeding rebookings will already collect fare differences, taxes and no show fees. The unused tickets can also be converted to travel vouchers valid for one year for future bookings with a 10 percent added unused base fare. A refund will also be given, but the duration of the processing period hasn’t been announced.
For PAL flights that are unaffected by the quarantine (May 1 onwards), a one-time free rebooking may be availed, but fare differences and taxes may be collected. Conversion to travel vouchers is also available. Refunds are subject to fare rules.
To make the necessary changes to your PAL bookings, visit this link and answer the form or scan the QR code found on their Facebook post. You will receive a confirmation email within five to seven business days.
President Duterte approved the extension of the enhanced community quarantine to Apr. 30, announced by Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) Spokesperson Cabinet Secretary Karlo Nograles yesterday, Apr. 7. Currently, the Philippines has 3,764 positive cases, with 177 deaths and 84 recoveries.
