The quarantine has made resourceful homecooks out of us—from experimenting with random ingredients found in our cupboards to simply cooking up the easiest meal (instant noodles and a hard boiled egg? Delicious) and call it a day. On some days, though, there will be that persistent craving for restaurant meals.
Thankfully, some brands and restaurants have shared with the public some recipes of their well-known dishes to satisfy all those quarantine cravings.
Ikea’s Swedish Meatballs
Ikea has just shared the recipe for their popular Swedish meatballs—a staple in their stores, theme parks and hotels. It’s a fairly easy recipe to follow, with the recipe card including instructions on how to make both the meatballs and cream sauce process. The ingredients are also fairly common: ground beef, onions, garlic and milk.
“We know that some people might be missing our meatballs,” said Lorena Lourido, country food manager at Ikea, in a press release. “[W]hich is why we’ve released an at-home alternative which, using easily accessible ingredients, will help those looking for some inspiration in the kitchen.”
McDonald’s Sausage and Egg McMuffin
Other than this meatball recipe by Ikea, McDonald’s has also released their recipe for the Sausage and Egg McMuffin. Paired with some fun facts on the muffin, the recipe card contains the ingredients (English muffins, sausage, American cheese slice, eggs, and potatoes) and their corresponding procedures on how to cook and assemble it all together.
The Cheesecake Factory
The Cheesecake Factory has created an online library of homestyle recipes for 19 of their meals including chicken bellagio, cinnamon roll pancakes, almond-crusted salmon salad and Korean fried cauliflower–a wide range of homestyle meals great for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Nando’s Peri-peri
For spicy chicken lovers, Nando’s has also released the recipe for their grilled Peri-peri wings. There are only four ingredients needed–a bottle of Peri-peri sauce, chicken wings, baking powder and salt. The chicken should be grilled once you’ve covered them with baking powder and seasoned with the sauce and salt.
Disneyland’s Churros
Lastly, there’s also Disneyland, which has shared the recipe for one of their most popular snacks: churros with chocolate dip. All you’ll be needing are the usual baking staples–butter, salt, cinnamon, flour, eggs, sugar and oil for the deep frying. Have a piping bag at the ready to achieve that long, ridged shape.
