As more people return to work, the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) reiterated that employees working in essential businesses don’t need travel authority to get through quarantine checkpoints.

The DILG reiterated that essential industries allowed to operate during the enhanced community quarantine (which include food and agriculture, manufacturing, banks and money transfer agencies) don’t need to secure travel authority.

Interior Secretary Eduardo Año noted that employees only need to present their company ID or certificate of employment at quarantine checkpoints to prove that they are Authorized Persons Outside of Residence.

Interior Undersecretary Jonathan Malaya clarified that the travel authority only applies to stranded persons or migrant workers who plan to return to their respective hometowns. These can be secured from local police stations.
