In our continuing efforts to support small businesses, we’re glad to have found this Facebook page run by chefs who lost their jobs due to the pandemic. They founded this small online business called Food PH Manila for retrenched cooks and chefs to continue their livelihoods and maintain their passion for cooking.
So, what do these chefs have on their menu? Well, it’s a mixed cuisine selection as one of the chefs is from an unnamed Japanese restaurant and another is a cook from an Italian restaurant. They did not disclose the names of their former employers for privacy reasons. We just hope that the 16,000 followers they garnered over a span of a week is evidence enough of how tasty their cooking is.
You’ll be able to order Japanese classics like gyoza, beef yakiniku, pork katsu and chicken katsu, as well as Italian favorites like the meatball spaghetti, chicken parmigiana and carbonara. They’re also serving up chicken wings with salted egg or soy garlic flavoring—a great match for those pastas. Occasionally, they also serve one kilogram of baby back ribs available so be sure to be on the lookout for that.
Food PH Manila guarantees that their food is freshly made (their salted egg flavoring is made with real egg, none of those powdered flavors!). For affordable prices between P150 to P300, the dishes they serve are good for sharing with family and friends.
JR, who worked with a Japanese restaurant for four years before throwing in the towel this pandemic, shared his gratitude for all the netizens showing their support on Food PH MNL’s Facebook page.
“I would like to say thank you to everyone who [is] supporting our page. I hope you keep on supporting us,” he wrote.
Additionally, they’re also glad to be helping delivery riders earn more income from those who order food from their page. Deliveries can be made anywhere in Metro Manila.
To order, send their Facebook page a message with your name, address, contact number, mode of payment and orders (online banking deposit or cash on delivery). Orders must be made one day before and will be delivered via Lalamove or GrabExpress with delivery fees shouldered by customers.
