The school year officially opens next month, and yet students and teachers around the country are still looking for ways to gather all the gadgets and supplies required for blended learning methods. Social media campaigns like #PisoParaSaLaptop and gadget donation drives initiated by private businesses have gone a long way—but there is still so much work to be done to ensure that everyone is well-equipped and ready to learn.

So if you’d like to help improve the accessibility of education in the country, here’s a list of organizations to lend a virtual helping hand to.

Ladiyawan Youth in Government

In partnership with the Office of the Vice President’s Bayanihan Para Sa Distance Learning initiative, Kapawa para sa Kapwa hopes to establish community learning hubs for students in Barangay Sta. Ana, Taytay and Himamaylan City, Negros Occidental through gadget donation drives.

Streets to Schools

This youth-led organization is currently holding donation drives for second hand gadgets such as laptops and tablets to help students and teachers adjust to new learning methods during the pandemic.

Edicute Inc.

Their Balik Eskwela Program is a donation drive that aims to raise funds for new school supplies, teaching materials and bigger and safer classrooms for the indigenous students of Sitio Upper Pusog, Occidental Mindoro.

The Landas Organization

The Kapit-bisig sa Panahon ng Pandemya donation drive’s beneficiaries are the students of Homeowners Association of Meralco Relocatees, Inc. P4. Funds raised from this project will be used to purchase electronic devices, school supplies and health kits for students.

The Youth Initiative Philippines

The Hope for the Students of Child Hope donation drive’s beneficiaries are the students of Child Hope Philippines and UP Ugnayan ng Pahinungod Manila. Funds raised from this project will be used to purchase gadgets, educational materials and health kits for students.
