If you haven’t installed an RFID pass for tollways yet, you have until Dec. 1

Good news for motorists who have yet to install an RFID pass on their vehicles: the Department of Transportation (DOTr) has extended its deadline for cashless payments on toll roads until Dec. 1

“(DOTr) Secretary Tugade allowed the extension to give motorists, especially infrequent toll road users, more time to comply with the department order, and to prevent the long queues currently being experienced at toll roads in the rush to get the RFID stickers,” Toll Regulatory Board (TRB) executive director Abraham Sales said in a statement.

Sales said this will be the last extension of the order’s implementation, and warned that after Dec. 1, penalties, like a citation ticket, await motorists who have not installed the required RFID pass.

The city of Manila has taken the initiative to offer drive-through RFID installation points this weekend to ease congestion on toll roads.

Easytrip RFIDs will be made available for cars, SUVs and passenger vans at the drive-through installation points on Oct 31. and Nov. 1, from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
