Aside from the fact that the “NCR plus” region is on the second season of enhanced community quarantine (ECQ), it’s also Holy Week. Malls and other essential services are already operating on shortened hours and limited capacity with the addition of closures for the holidays. If you need to plan your grocery runs and other errands, here’s a list of mall and essential service opening hours so you don’t unnecessarily risk your safety.
Power Plant Mall
With the comeback of ECQ, Power Plant Mall in Rockwell will only be open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., with the exception of Marketplace, which will be open at 7 a.m. The mall will also be closed on Maundy Thursday and Good Friday in observance of the holidays. Restaurants will still be open for takeout and delivery, as well as other necessary services like banks, clinics and drugstores.
Ayala Malls
All the Ayala Malls in the NCR plus region under ECQ will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Only essential services like supermarkets, drugstores, banks and clinics will be open, along with restaurants with takeout and delivery services. Just like Power Plant, all of the Ayala Malls will be closed on Thursday and Friday in observance of the holidays. The mall has added that parking will be free during this period.
If you don’t live in the NCR plus bubble, here’s a complete list of the mall hours for Holy Week.
SM Markets
Most of the SM groceries (of super, hyper and Savemore varieties) will be operating on limited hours for ECQ. For groceries in the NCR plus bubble, their operating hours are from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily for the duration of the quarantine period. The Hypermarket at Eton Centris will be closing earlier at 4 p.m.
While SM mentioned that some of its stores will be closed for the two-day Holy Week Holiday, it didn’t specify which ones. In these cases, it’s best to call the store you’ll be visiting ahead of time so you’ll know how to plan your day. You can view the complete list of market operating hours here.
Robinsons Malls
In line with the announcement of ECQ, Robinsons Malls are shortening their opening hours to 7 a.m. until 6 p.m. for their groceries and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. for other essential services. In order to help during these times, the mall has announced free parking for its customers with the exception of overnight parking.
If you’re planning to give any Robinsons Malls a visit during Maundy Thursday or Good Friday, check their social media before you go to see if they’ve announced their operating hours.
