We all know how the song goes: “Manila, I keep coming back to Manila…” It’s one of the most iconic tunes in OPM history, and just one of the many songs that highlight the city.

This year is also the City of Manila’s 450th foundation year, and to celebrate, the Heritage Conservation Society collaborated with the OPM Archive, Organisasyon ng Pilipinong Mang-aawit, and PhilPop to create a podcast about Manila’s heritage sites and the songs they’ve been featured in.

The podcast, called “Music, Landscapes, & Memory” will launch on Spotify tomorrow, May 20.

The podcast is expected to tackle not just music. It will also feature interviews with known personalities in the fields of performing arts and heritage conservation and advocacy such as National Artists Ryan Cayabyab and Ramon Santos, urban historian and planner Paulo Alcazaren, director/choreographer Dexter Santos, singer Celeste Legaspi, actor Jon Santos, and more.

In the meantime, jam to some Manila Sound.

Update, May 20: You can listen to the episode below.
