Pawssion Project has been rescuing animals since 2018. Now *they* need our help

Pawssion Project has been synonymous with advocating for and rescuing animals for years, but things might change soon. After four years of operations, the non-profit’s Bulacan shelter is indefinitely putting rescue operations on hold.

The space they’re currently renting is undergoing a change in ownership, which means that the shelter will have to find a new place to house all of its rescues.

This also means that hundreds of rescues are at risk of losing their home and medical support for health problems.

While rescue operations have been put on pause, that doesn’t mean the rescue doesn’t still have work to do. Pawssion Project is responsible for the wellbeing of hundreds of dogs around the Philippines. The rescue has another location in Bacolod named Balay Pawssion.

As a no-kill shelter, their main objective is to help animals recover from any illnesses and get them ready to find their forever home. While the animals are waiting to find a family, this means it’s the shelter’s responsibility to give them the best possible care.

The shelter also advocates for senior animals, high-risk, and special needs cases. Prior to the pause on accepting new rescues, the shelter’s operating cost for both locations was almost at P500,000 per month. With the additional costs associated with finding a new home for the animals, the cost is sure to skyrocket.
