LOOK: A cabin built entirely out of bamboo is now a holiday home for Siquijor tourists

Tucked away in a hillside in Lazi, Siquijor is a private cabin constructed using bamboo and coconut husks sourced from around the area. This property is known as the Jungle Hut, a cabin that allows tourists to enjoy the island with an eco-friendly space as their base.

Built in 2019, the Jungle Hut is equipped with a bedroom, a sun terrace, an outdoor cinema area, a private parking and free wi-fi. Tourists who want to prepare their own food can take a three-minute ride to Lazi for fresh produce from the local wet market and prepare their own meals through the fully equipped kitchen with barbecue facilities.

Aside from the facilities, the Jungle Hut also encourages visitors to explore what Siquijor has to offer by foot thanks to its proximity to popular tourist attractions. The cabin is a two-minute walk from the Enchanted Balete Tree that is a century old and a 15-minute trek to the Cambugahay Falls and underwater caves and hidden pools that more adventurous tourists can discover.

Tourists who want to learn more about the character of the island can also explore Lazi, which is home to charming cafes that serve freshly brewed coffee, local dishes and comfort food.

The Jungle Hut is built to accommodate two people, although the space can accommodate four upon request. Bookings can be made through this link.
