In an effort to promote sustainable solutions and technology, the Philippines will be launching a new event entitled “The Sustainability Solutions Expo: Food and Beverage (SSX).” For the event’s first edition, it will focus on the food and beverage industry’s movements and innovations towards more sustainable practices. It is planned to be held at the World Trade Center Metro Manila (WTCMM), Pasay on May 21-23.
Through the Department of Trade and Industry and the Center for International Trade Expositions and Missions (DTI-CITEM), the SSX will feature local and international micro-, small and medium enterprises. It will also become an avenue for stakeholders and manufacturers to discuss possible initiatives for more accessible and universal sustainable practices. For the Philippines, the SSX wants to elevate Philippine companies into producing and practicing eco-friendly systems and services.
During the event, there will be exhibitions of new technologies and practices in food sustainability, conferences by sustainability stakeholders that will discuss issues and challenges, business to business networking for possible partnerships and more special events yet to be announced.
Exhibits to be expected at the SSX will come from a wide selection of companies, groups and individuals who are in the sectors of organic, healthy and natural food and technology. This also includes possible exhibits on waste management, green engineering and transport and logistics.
“This event serves as a fresh start for the Philippine food industry to scope where it is now and where it should be going in view of the global efforts to foster sustainable means of consumption and production,” says DTI-CITEM executive director Pauline Suaco-Juan.
