Ube pandesal is now available at 7-Eleven stores. I can pretend I baked it, right?

The quarantine has made me try my hand out in baking—and of course, the Filipino staple every aspiring baker must-try is the pandesal. However, I’ve been delaying taking on that feat in fear of messing up. Well, now I have another excuse to just skip out on the kitchen mess. Yes, 7-Eleven has made our ube pandesal dreams come true. On top of that, there’s cheese inside.

The ube-cheese pandesal has been a quarantine baking trend for many, but while the social media hype may have died down—the cravings have not. To get our hands on some tasty ube-cheese pandesal, we’d usually have to call up a bakery or a home baker on Instagram, wait for deliveries or go through the whole baking process. This time, we can just run to the nearest 7-Eleven convenience store and buy either the ube cheddar cheese-stuffed pandesal or the ube cream cheese-stuffed pandesal for only P29 each.

So, yes, those without the right baking ingredients and equipment (or time management skills) can enjoy this Filipino pastry over maybe a cup of coffee in the morning or with some juice for merienda.

Starting today, Jun. 3, both flavors are available at 7-Eleven stores nationwide.
