The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) will be sending the second tranche of Social Amelioration Program (SAP) payouts for those waitlisted in the National Capital Region (NCR) via GCash, Paymaya, Starpay, Robinsons Bank and Union Bank.
As the country continues to experience an economic downturn due to lockdown protocols, the DSWD’s SAP, a government initiative that provides P5,000 to P8,000 to qualified low-income and underserved citizens, is one of the Filipinos’ saving graces in this pandemic.
During the first months of quarantine, the DSWD turned over the first tranche of SAP payouts to the local government units for distribution. As of today, July 21, the department announced that they will be using digital banking instead.
All qualified beneficiaries will receive a text message from their financial service provider notifying them that they are qualified for the second tranche. They will also be instructed on the following steps needed to finalize the process. Beneficiaries will have to prepare a valid ID and the accomplished SAP form.
The financial service provider to be used varies per city. Qualified beneficiaries in NCR must check with the DSWD which service they must download and sign up for. Visit the list here.
Meanwhile, those outside NCR will continue to receive their payouts through direct cash or other methods as instructed by their local government unit.
