Six years after “Rak of Aegis” first opened and over a year after we’ve all been stuck at home, we’re finally going to be able to watch the hit jukebox musical and sing along without getting dirty looks from other audience members.
On April 23, the Philippine Educational Theatre Association (PETA) announced that the long-awaited musical will stream via pay-per-view for two weekends as a part of their #TakePETAbeyondCOVID fundraising campaign.
The musical will stream through ticket2me.net on the weekend of July 31 and Aug. 1, as well as Aug. 7 and 8. While the final cast of the recorded version has yet to be revealed, we can probably expect familiar faces like Isay Alvarez-Seña, Robert Seña, Pepe Herrera and the rest of the Barangay Venezia Homeowners Association to make an appearance.
For those of you who are unfamiliar with this distinctly Pinoy musical phenomenon, “Rak of Aegis” is a jukebox musical featuring hit songs from OPM legends Aegis.

The musical takes place in the seemingly fictional—but strikingly realistic—locale of Barangay Venezia, a waterlogged barangay that faces challenges like community health and a flooding problem that just never goes away.
Written by Liza Magtoto and directed by PETA’s artistic director Maribel Legarda, the musical ran for an astounding seven seasons.
