This just in: Voter registration will (temporarily) end tomorrow, Sept. 30, but will resume again on Oct. 9 until 31.

The Commission on Elections (Comelec) approved the extension today, Wednesday. Despite clamor from various organizations and Congress, Comelec initially did not want to extend the deadline as it would allegedly affect the election timeline. Both the Senate and the House of Representatives have passed bills appealing for the extension.

The filing of certificates of candidacy is set to be from Oct. 1 to 8.
