We’re loving the latest cake trend in the Philippines right now

Come rain or shine, succulents have gained a reputation as low-maintenance plants because of their resilience to grow in arid conditions, thus; perfect for the tropical environment of Southeast Asia. In the Philippines, more and more are getting into the trend of collecting and breeding these picturesque plants.

Now, it’s crossed over to cakes. What started from Instagram posts from bakeries in Ontario and Jakarta has taken over the cake world by storm. We’ve seen cakes filled with flora up to the brim, cosmic and gem-inspired cakes, and even no-frills naked cakes. Now, behold succulent cakes. We’ve gathered some of the most adorable baked succulents on social media made proudly in the Philippines by local bakeries.
