Hilary Duff fires back at body-shamers: “Kiss my ass”

It seems that some people have turned bullying into a hobby. Making others feel bad about themselves has become the norm somehow and actress Hilary Duff isn’t taking any of this body-shaming crap, which promotes unrealistic standards society has set for women.

Last Friday, she posted a photo of her backside. She was carrying her five-year-old son Luca as she rocked a checkered one-piece swimsuit. There, she flaunted what she calls “celeb flaws” (uhh, what flaws?).

The actress, 29, stood up “on behalf of young girls, women, and mothers of all ages,” against body-shamers, and reminded them of the beautiful things the body these haters are attacking is capable of. “My body has given me the greatest gift of my life: Luca, 5 years ago. I’m turning 30 in September and my body is healthy and gets me where I need to go.”

She also called out websites and magazines for their obsession with celebrities’ bodies, especially those with imperfections. “Well, I have them!” she said. Duff stresses that these imperfections don’t define her and don’t make her less of a person.

She points out an important message for women: They should be proud of “what [they’ve] got” and what they can do instead of wallowing in self-pity, “wishing [they] were different, better, and unflawed.” Every body’s different, changing at their own pace, and that’s normal for a human being.

Besides, nobody’s well-deserved vacation should be disturbed by pathetic losers who feed on others’ misery.
