It’s been a roller coaster of guessing, but it looks like we’ve finally arrived at the destination: SM Mall of Asia will be the first home of IKEA in the Philippines.
We heard last month that IKEA just recently posted a job opening for design manager, and we’ve also confirmed that a Philippine company, Ikano Group, was awarded the franchise. Now this past weekend, it’s been reported that IKEA Philippines will have its first store—a warehouse-like structure as is the norm for IKEA—between SMX Convention Center and SM Arena.
Northerners, don’t worry, it has also been reported that a second branch will be opening beside SM Fairview.
We’ll update this as soon as we get more details, so stay tuned.
