You may have noticed these past few days a sudden drop in temperature. Suddenly, you are not sweating during your morning commute, the office airconditioning unit proves to be unbearable, and the skies are unforgivingly gloomy with chances of light rain.
This cold weather even prompts people to compare it to that of Baguio’s although it is nothing near that (the temperature up north ranges somewhere between 10 degrees Celsius to 22 degrees Celsius to an extreme of 9 to 10 degrees Celsius in Banawe, Ifugao.)
But that is not to say it is not cold. In fact, according to the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), Metro Manila may experience temperatures anywhere from 18 degrees Celsius to 30 degrees Celsius in the coming days up to the weekend.
This is brought about by the prevalence of “amihan” or northeast monsoon. While the tail of a cold front and an impending low pressure area in the Visayas and Mindanao area also contribute to the sudden drop in temperature. PAGASA said that the LPA may enter the Philippine area of responsibility by Thursday afternoon.
So you might want to pack a jacket and an umbrella along with that face mask.
