You might have had some summertime sadness as the pandemic canceled all of your vacation plans this year. But don’t worry, you’re not alone—we were also heartbroken while marking all of our scheduled island hopping trips for last summer as “indefinitely postponed.”
Thank goodness we don’t have to wait until this pandemic ends to get a piece of our favorite vacation spots at home. From the comfort of our own kitchen, we can recreate some of our favorite beach food—like this delectable kinilaw—or order dishes and desserts from our favorite beach spots. Here’s an addition to that list: An island-inspired cake which will remind you of how beautiful the country’s sceneries are.
Elliza Dawn Aurelio bakes a paradisiacal piece of art made available through Classic Chef. Called The Island Cake, this pastry’s design is complete with visuals of a rocky terrain, “sand” (not made of dolomite!), trees and even a transparent underwater scene.
This pastry is available in two flavors. You can have it as a combination of chocolate cake and butter cake with dark chocolate ganache filling and lemon jello, or a mix of carrot cake and chiffon cake with white chocolate and cream cheese filling.
Place your orders at least two days before your pickup date, which is available for Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. only. Simply message Classic Chef on Instagram to receive an order form and pay via BPI, BDO, Metrobank, Gcash or Paymaya.
