This mall is repurposing its gondolas for a float-in theater experience

The limits of human ingenuity and creativity have been pushed and redefined this pandemic, but Venice Grand Canal’s soon-to-open attraction may just take the cake. Instead of enforcing social distancing in its enclosed movie theaters or opening up a drive-in, the mall is repurposing its gondolas for a float-in movie theater experience.

Tickets are priced at P500 per person, which already includes a medium-sized popcorn and a bottle of water. Each gondola can accommodate two people, which makes it a great outdoor date night idea. The movies will be projected onto a giant screen and patrons will have the choice to plug in their personal earphones to really follow along and watch the movie.

Though each gondola can seat two, COVID-19 protocols are still strictly enforced, especially the wearing of masks at all times.

This float-in movie theater concept is set to open this December, so mark your calendar if you want to try this out yourself. Personally, we hope they’ll be screening “Roman Holiday” so you can really live out la dolce vita.
