Land transpo terminals may soon be required to provide free internet

The absence of internet (or perhaps the bad speed) has become one of the many struggles of an ordinary city dweller. Amidst the long queues, technical difficulties, and other challenges, commuters have turned to the internet to ease their boredom.

Last year, free internet services became available to the public who travel through EDSA. This year, Sen. Grace Poe aims to mandate every land transport terminal in the country to provide free internet access through Senate Bill 1695.

Under the bill, transport terminal owners are also required to provide clean sanitary facilities. And we all know how important that is—no one wants to pay five pesos and pee in a stinking washroom, right?

If the bill is legislated, violators would need to pay a fine of P5,000.
