Corresponding with International Women’s Day on Mar. 8, the whole month of March is about putting the spotlight on women and their contributions to the society today and throughout the history.
To celebrate, the University of the Philippines Film Institute (UPFI) is screening diverse women-centered cinema with films by Irene Villamor (Meet Me in St. Gallen, Camp Sawi), Maricel Cabrera-Cariaga (Pitong Kabang Palay), Sigrid Andrea Bernardo (Lorna, Kita Kita), Ramona Diaz (Motherland), and Jun Robles Lana (Ang Dalawang Mrs. Reyes).
There will also be free film festivals from the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Embassy of Israel, and Haruki Murakami Festival from Japan Foundation.

Camp Sawi (2016)
Dir. Irene Villamor. Camp Sawi tells the story of five brokenhearted women who end up at a resort that helps people recover from painful love experiences.

Pitong Kabang Palay (2016)
