The Philippines was put on the culinary map last year with the recognition of Gallery Vask as the 35th best restaurant in Asia, and the best in the Philippines. But things look a little different now.

A new list has been unveiled last night, Mar. 27, in Monaco, revealing Gaggan, the now world-famous 25-course Indian restaurant in Bangkok, Thailand, as Asia’s Best Restaurant for the fourth time this year.

Joining Gaggan at the top are Den and Florilege from Tokyo, bagging the second and third best restaurant spots respectively.

While Gallery Vask and any other Philippine-based restaurants are nowhere to be found on the list, the country’s flag remains standing with the awarding of Toyo Eatery as Miele’s One To Watch restaurant in Asia for 2018.
