Netflix is really up to something these days. Before October ended, they released Heneral Luna on the streaming platform, and along with it the news that other Filipino blockbuster movies will soon be available starting November.
During their first slate event held in Singapore this week, Nov. 8 and 9, Netflix has also announced plans to produce an anime version of the hit local fantasy comics Trese created by writer Budjette Tan and artist Kajo Baldisimo.
No less than Netflix’s director of anime Taito Okiura shared the news. The series will be produced by Singapore-based BASE Entertainment.
Trese follows its protagonist detective Alexandra Trese on her adventures and investigation on the supernatural. The comics series published under Visprint already has six books released since its creation in 2005.
