After Taal Volcano’s phreatic eruption last Jan. 12, many have joined in on sharing their goodwill with those who were affected by the ashfall. Evacuation centers were put up to accommodate evacuees, wherein organizations and individuals alike have been gathering donations and visiting these centers to personally help and carry out the necessary operations.
If you have some free time and are looking for more ways to volunteer, these organizations are looking for people who can help onsite. Whether it be helping out in packing goods or sharing medical expertise, any form of manpower is beneficial to the evacuees. Here’s some information to help you out.
For individuals who are willing to help with relief operations, and personally drop off donations, this is a list of addresses for evacuation centers.
The Department of Social Welfare and Development Region IV-A and the Christ Commission Fellowship has an ongoing call for volunteers to help with packing relief items.
To help in cooking and preparing meals for the evacuees, The Art Relief Mobile Kitchen is open for volunteers to join.
Love Education is looking for volunteers to buy N95 masks, and drive around affected areas to give the masks to children.
The Mapua Univerisity’s Chemical, Biological, Mechanical Engineering and Sciences Student Council, The Akbayanihan Foundation, and Tulong Kabataan are looking for volunteers for their own relief initiatives.
