Ahead of Art Fair Philippines 2020, art enthusiasts can find different forms of contemporary art all over the city through 10 Days of Art, a festival featuring all kinds of installations, pop-up exhibits and workshops exposing the public to local art housed at different restaurants and retail establishments all over Makati.
Aside from special benefits and discounts you can utilize while waiting for Art Fair, here are some of the exhibits you can look forward to throughout 10 Days of Art.
The Unconfined Cinema: An Expanded Cinema Project
Ayala Tower One & Exchange Plaza, Ayala Triangle, Ayala Ave., Makati
Feb. 14 to 16, 6 p.m. onwards
Introducing Art Fair’s newest “Film” section is a special outdoor cinema featuring films like “One More Chance” (2007), “Sunday Beauty Queen” (2016) and “Never Not Love You” (2018). Enlisted to curate the selection are writer Erwin Romulo, film critic Philbert Dy and film historian Teddy Co. Films will be projected on the ceiling of Ayala Tower One’s fountain area while the audio is streamed directly to an app where viewers can listen to through their own headphones.

From the Archives: A Selection of Philippine Contemporary Art
The Link, North Dr. cor. Makati Ave., Makati
Feb. 14 to 23, 6 p.m. onwards
This year’s Art Fair will also feature a projection-mapping display by projection designer G.A. Fallarme and Dutch artist Henk-Gert Lenten. Every evening from Feb. 14 to 23, The Link’s facade will light up with animated video projections of the most memorable works exhibited since the fair’s inception in 2013.
TranscenDance: A Daloy Movement Gathering On Valentine’s Day
Kondwi, 6109 Albert St., Poblacion, Makati
Feb. 14, 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Using guided and sustained improvisation, Daloy Movement is a dynamic dance and healing practice that initiates free-form movement to lead participants into self-discovery. The class will be taught by dance artist and Asian Cultural Council Grant awardee Ea Torrado.
Nude Floor and Vengo present ‘Soul Train’
Vengo Neighborhood Café, Jose Cojuangco & Sons Bldg., 119 Dela Rosa St., Legazpi Village, Makati
Feb. 15, 8 p.m. onwards
Dance studio Nude Floor and Vengo Neighborhood Café are working together to present “Soul Train,” a ’70s-inspired dance party that invites people to groove to and share the art of dance. With music programming by Transit Records, participants can learn the basics of soul dancing from funk freestyler Kristina Cabochan and freestyle performer JB Estrada.
La Luminosa
Almacen, Matilde St. cor Kalayaan Ave., Poblacion, Makati
Feb. 17, 7 p.m. onwards
For one night only, Almacen will be housing La Luminosa, a pop-up exhibit that features works from up-and-coming female artists. The exhibit will feature works by self-taught painter Bianca Ruiz, abstract and impasto artist Bea Policarpio and interior spatial designer Corina Borromeo.
What’s Behind The Red Door?
Run Rabbit Run, 4991 P. Guanzon St., Poblacion, Makati
Feb. 18, 7 p.m. onwards
In collaboration with art and lifestyle brand Grounded, Run Rabbit Run will present a pop-up exhibit titled “What’s Behind The Red Door?” featuring works by interior spatial designer Corina Borromeo, illustrator and muralist Jappy Agoncillo and painter Luis Lopa as well as musical performances by singer-songwriter Bianca Yuzon, Dan Baldonado and Tom Weil.
