Here’s where you can get a mental health checkup online or on the phone

With social media filled with news about the highly infectious coronavirus, an incompetent government, a restricting community quarantine, and other harrowing factors, there are higher chances of feelings of anxiety, stress, and depression to occur. While we keep our bodies healthy, it is also important to keep our mental health in check. To help you do so while still maintaining social distance, these clinics and organizations are offering online or over-the-phone mental health consultations and psychotherapy.

University of the Philippines – Diliman Psychological Services (UPD PsycServ)

As an act of service towards the frontliners during the time of COVID-19, the UPD PsycServ is offering them free telepsychotherapy sessions. Consultations will be done through video or phone calls. If you are a medical worker, simply text your name, designation, and hospital to 0906-3743466 or answer their online form.

MindNation

MindNation, the first mental healthcare service in the country that offers offline and online psychologist consultations and 24/7 helplines, is giving 500 free online psychologist consultations. Each consultation takes 30 minutes each at any time from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Free consultations are until Mar. 27 or until slots are still available. Other than this, they offer a 24/7 Facebook chat line run by trained members of the team. Book now by emailing hello@themindnation.com.

National Center for Mental Health

The Department of Health along with the National Center for Mental Health has set up a hotline operating now for those who are seeking mental help and advice from professionals. Have a free consultation by calling their hotlines at 0917-8998727 or (02) 8989-8727.

Hopeline Philippines

Hopeline Philippines is 24/7 suicide prevention and crisis intervention hotline. Currently, the organization is dedicated to helping those who have been mentally affected by the virus. Reach them at 0917-5584673 for Globe subscribers, 0918-8734673 for Smart, and (02) 8804-4673 for PLDT.

An organization of volunteer-driven counselors, psychologists, psychiatrists, and coaches who are able to offer counseling in English, Tagalog, Visayan, French, German, Italian, Spanish and Japanese, In Touch Philippines are offering telephone or online video conferencing during this time of crisis. Book an appointment from 9 a.m. to 5p.m. on their website or at (02) 8893 1893, 0917-8631136, or 0956-0534257. Their crisis hotline is also accessible 24/7 at 0917-8001123, 0922-8938944, or (02) 8893-7603.
