A tiyanak is a vengeful creature that imitates the form of a child. It takes the form of a newborn baby and is depicted to lead travelers astray and abduct children. Other versions say that it is a spirit of an unborn child whose mother died before giving birth or an aborted fetus.

In the folklore of Itneg people in the province of Abra, an Alan has wings, elongated fingers, and feet that point backward, which it uses to hang upside down from trees. They are said to procreate by collecting menstrual blood and aborted fetuses.

In Ifugao, the Masiken is known to be the protector of the underworld. It is also called as yumugyog by the Ifugaos. A Masiken is believed to live by the rocky part of the river or forest.

Ansisit
Ansisit is an old, big-bellied man in the size of a three-year-old child. His head is big as well as his eyes, nose, mouth, and joints. When an ansisit is disturbed by farmers tilling the land nearby or people sweeping the floor because the dust might get into his eyes, he manifests his anger to a person through scabs, fever chills, dark blue pinch marks on the skin, or swollen toes.

In Ilocano belief, a batibat is a huge, excessively obese woman who sleeps on top of sleeping men and suffocating them to death. In Tagalog folklore, their attack is known to be a bangungot.

In the Western Visayan folklore, a Mantiw is a tall human-like being with a dark complexion, a lean physique, wide shoulders, long and slender limbs, and a tall aquiline nose. They are seldom seen because they are invisible most of the time but they are fond of whistling while traveling.

A spirit that can sense if people are on the brink of death, and feed on corpses. They look and act like humans in the morning, and they possess long, sharp teeth and nails when they sniff out dead people at night.
