Hikers are brave souls. They would set out on foot for the zenith and literally walk on the edge of the mountains. But how about hiking trails that are submerged?
Because an underwater trail exists, at least for a short period of time. A park guide in Brazil shared on YouTube what it’s like walking in one at the Natural River Park in Jardim, Mato Grosso du Sul, Brazil. It’s a result of heavy rain in the area.
At first, one wouldn’t notice that this private hiking trail is indeed engulfed by water. The water is almost crystal clear. Is this possible?
Apparently, yes. According to the description of the video, which got on the trending list of the video sharing and streaming site, the Rio da Prata river dams when it rains a lot. This causes the increase of the water level of the Olho D’Água river.
“Despite the flood, on the day of the video was recorded, the water of the Olho D’Água river remained crystal clear due to their conserved riparian forest and being inside a Private Reserve of the Natural Patrimony, which is a type of conservation unit,” writes the authorities of the park in the description.
The park uploaded the second video, in case you need to know if there were fishes. (Spoiler alert: Yes, there were.)
They say it was a rare case, and the river had returned to its normal level, as well as the conditions of the hiking trail, by the end of the day. The bridge became useful again.
