It’s obviously not the time for a beach trip but there’s no denying how much we miss those mornings under the sun surrounded by the sound of waves. We’ve also talked about how much we miss the popular beachside dishes and desserts—thankfully, some of them have made their way into the city.
[READ: LU’s favorite fried chicken shack Sabong will be in Manila next week]La Union’s popular café, El Union Coffee, was one of the places we were hoping to get a taste of again while we’re stuck in our homes. And we got more than what we bargained for. Now, their coffee beans are available for nationwide shipping. Yes, that means even those from Visayas and Mindanao no longer need a plane ticket to try it out.
They’re selling three of their signature coffee beans: the Sablan Naturals from Benguet, which has mixed with chocolate and brown sugar; Let’s Go Sliding, which has chocolate, nuts and dried fruit flavors; and Atok Washed, which has dark chocolate, molasses, orange and lime rind. Each one comes in a pouch weighing either 250 grams or 1 kilogram.
You can also choose which kind coffee ground you prefer—whole bean, coarse (great for cold brews), medium (used with drip coffee machines) or fine (for espressos).
Previously, only residents from San Fernando, San Juan, and Bacnotan in La Union could have these beans and some desserts delivered from the café. No news on whether they’ll soon be shipping any of their pastries for deliveries even just to Metro Manila soon but we’re keeping our hopes up!
For prices and more information on the coffee beans for nationwide shipping, visit their website, fill out the form and place your orders. They accept payments via credit and debit card transactions. Soon enough, you’ll be having your beachy caffeine fix!
