Heads up, vegetarians! Ready-to-cook meat-free giniling is available at your local supermarket

Spending time at home 24/7 can mean home-cooked meals—a blessing if you ask me especially if the ulam is an elaborate or even comforting Filipino classics like menudo, afritada, kare-kare, mechado, adobo, bulalo, sinigang—you name it!

But for vegetarians and vegans used to eating out and having their meal plans delivered—a rarity these days given we have so much time on our hands, enough to learn how to prepare our own food—this can be a nightmare. Especially if you are the lone plant-based eater in the family.

But just as ready-to-cook meals for omnivores are available in the supermarket (even those from your favorite restaurants!), there are now vegetarian frozen packs for the plant-based eater at home courtesy of Veega, a new line of meat-free ready-to-cook meals by San Miguel Foods.

Made with plant-based proteins such as mushroom, soy and wheat, Veega’s selection of comfort food like sausage, burger patty, nuggets, meat(less) balls and giniling(!) are made with egg whites and spices without preservatives.
