Here’s something to look forward to next year: chef Christina Sunae’s second cookbook, “Kusinera Filipina,” will be available soon at local nearby bookstores.
In her Instagram post, the Korean-American chef announced that her book will be released in bookstores and through Catapulta Editores by February 2021. Pre-sale details will be released soon.
Sunae’s interest in Filipino cuisine stemmed from a childhood spent in Angeles, Pampanga and cooking lessons from her Filipino mother. She is currently running Cantina Sunae in Buenos Aires, Argentina, a restaurant that fuses Latin American dishes with Southeast Asian flavors.

“Kusinera Filipina” is a cookbook devoted to Filipino cooking and culture, and is funded by the Cultural Diplomacy Unit of the Department of Foreign Affairs. The cookbook contains almost a hundred recipes, the result of Sunae’s trips to the country over the past year.
This is Sunae’s second cookbook, the first being “Sabores del Sudeste Asiático” published in 2013. Her first cookbook focused on gastronomy from Cantina Sunae and her television appearances on the El Gourmet channel.
