Expanded Pampanga toll plazas in NLEX by end of the year

There are so many food and heritage destinations outside Manila, but they can get a little difficult, if not troublesome, to go to. Mostly this is because of all the traffic congestion we have to go through to get to our destinations, despite the convenience of additional routes and expressways.

In response to the growing traffic concerns, the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) Corporation will be expanding its toll plazas in San Fernando, Mexico, and Angeles, Pampanga.

The expansion will involve construction of additional toll lanes. These are expected to reduce “transaction time at the toll lane” says NLEX Corporation SVP for Stakeholder Management and Communication Romulo S. Quimbo.

The following toll plazas will have additional toll lanes:

  • San Fernando – two toll lanes for southbound exit, one toll lane for southbound entry
  • Angeles – two entry lanes, one exit lane
  • Mexico – one exit lane

There will also be additional lanes at the connecting ramps of NLEX and SCTEX (Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway).

The Inquirer reports that the toll plaza constructions are slated to be finished by the end of the year.
