We know when Hui Lau Shan is opening in Manila

Our mangoes are literally taking over the world. In New Zealand, I once spotted locals purchasing 10-dollar or 350-peso Philippine mangoes per piece (yes, you read that right). Hong Kong-based dessert chain Hui Lau Shan (HLS) also infuses our own Carabao mangoes in their desserts.

When it was announced that HLS is coming to Manila, we knew that we simply can’t pass this up. Brought in by Fat Daddy’s Group Josiah’s Catering, their first store in the country will be located at SM Megamall, with a new opening target date of Mar. 23

Founded in the 1960s, HLS started out from selling Chinese herbal tea on a trolley. Their mango sago catapulted them to fame in Hong Kong in the early ‘90s. They also introduced more fresh fruit desserts eventually. Currently, HLS has over 300 branches worldwide including Taiwan, Malaysia, Australia, and more. Expect to catch some of these famed desserts in the Manila branch:

Mango Chewy Ball

HLS’s signature dessert is infused with mango chunks and rice balls topped with mango ice cream.

Mango Romance

Mango Romance is a combination of three desserts: mango chewy ball, mango mochi, and mango crystal jelly.

Coconut Icy with Assorted Fruits

This dessert is packed with a variety of fruits such as kiwis and strawberries served with coconut ice.
