The COVID-19 pandemic has brought upon acts of heroism by regular citizens and private sectors. Donation drives through cash and kind for frontliners and low-income earners have been implemented all throughout the quarantine period. To promote these acts of Bayanihan, WeCare, a community-based emergency response platform, was launched to connect communities in need with volunteers and donors.
The online platform was created by Cortex Technologies Corporation, a business and technology incubator under Concepcion Industrial Corporation, in order to help with the virus outbreak in the country.

Verified organizations and hospitals can request urgent needs through this website while donors—who can simply log in to the website using their Facebook accounts—can reply to these needs on the website as well. Simply click “We want to help!” upon logging in and set up your account. The Community Request page will then lead you to a form where you can specify the amount or goods you can pledge.
As for those who are in need of help, they can follow the same process of logging in via Facebook and then opting for the “We need help!” button instead. They will then need to specify which organization or hospital they belong to, and then wait for the verification email. The website has a strict verification system, and will only accredit legitimate emergency organizations such as hospitals and first responders.
Delivery logistics and shipping processes will be coordinated between the donor and requestor, who can then check and update the status of the deliveries on the WeCare website.
Using the WeCare website is free. The website also does not have any functions that allow monetary transactions between donors and organizations.
