This college library offers Netflix streaming for students and faculty

Nothing beats going home and crashing straight into the sofa and turning on some Netflix shows after work or school. But what if you can stream your favorite shows right in the comfort of your school library? You read that right: in your school library.

And no, we are not talking about sneaking in your laptop and connecting to the school WiFi to watch on your own. This library in Quezon City doubles as a study place and as an AV room with Netflix streaming.

The University of the Philippines College of Engineering Library (UP ENGGLIB) gives its students, faculty, and staff free access to Netflix at their Multimedia Room of The Learning Commons.

In a Facebook post, UP ENGGLIB said that faculty members may request for a film showing of Netflix movies, shows, and documentaries for their respective class. The library also offers an alternative learning experience with weekly movie streaming every Friday aptly called “Film Fridays.”

For students of other UP colleges, don’t fret. Apart from the option of enjoying Netflix on your own in campus or at home, you can also take advantage of the Main Library’s microfilm viewing services at the Electronic Resource Room at the first floor where you can watch documentary movies, and access microfiche of old newspapers and publications.
