Good news, vegans. There are more meat-free options for you to choose from. Grand Hyatt Manila recently launched two plant-based dishes made with products from Beyond Meat, a vegan meat producer based in Los Angeles. Their Beyond Burger and Beyond Sausage claims to be the Philippines’ first 100 percent meat-free burgers and sausages. Apart from being vegan, the burgers and sausages are also soy-, gluten-, dairy-, and cholesterol-free.
The launch of these dishes is part of Hyatt’s participation in the Green Monday initiative, a worldwide movement by plant-based concept store Green Common. Likewise, Hyatt will be offering vegetarian and vegan options such as vegan nasi lemak every Monday at The Grand Kitchen. But for Beyond Meat dishes, they’re available daily at the hotel’s a la carte menu.
Spicy miso burger (vegan patty with pickled carrots and radish, gochujang aioli, tofu fritters, and sesame seeds), BBQ cheeseburger (vegan patty with coleslaw, barbecue sauce, vegan cheese, onion rings and jalapeño), and basil curry burger (vegan patty with grilled eggplant, basil aioli, curry, paprika, and shoestring potato) are available for vegan burger variants.
On the other hand, the Beyond Sausage sandwiches has also three variations: Tokyo dog (vegan sausage, lettuce, wasabi aioli, teriyaki sauce, and tempura crumbs), curry dog (vegan sausage, basil aioli, curry, paprika, and shoestring potato), and chili cheese dog (vegan sausage, gochujang aioli, vegan chili con carne, vegan grated cheese, and jalapeño).
You may order the dishes at Hyatt’s restaurants namely The Grand Kitchen, The Lounge, or Pool House.
