Have you ever tried a ramen with sausage and fried eggs? If you haven’t, here’s a heads up: You only have until Thursday, May 30, to try one.
Wrong Ramen, the restaurant that boldly serves the Japanese noodle with unfamiliar additions such Spam, bacon, shrimp, and crab, will be closing the doors of its lone branch at Burgos Circle in Taguig after seven years.
The owners of the ramen house announced its closure on its social media accounts. “We started Wrong Ramen seven years ago because it was a fun and dumb thing to do. During that period of ramen puberty where we only had to go head-to-head with a literal handful of ramen shops (Ukkokei, Santouka, etc), we thrived. But today is no longer our world, and that’s super cool.”
The restaurant did not give any other details for its closure, other than that they “feel fabulous in death.”
Known for its comical branding (Wrong Ramen, after all, declared itself as “Manila’s Worst Ramen House”), the restaurant admitted that they consider it “a miracle that we got this far.”
“We’re really closing down, and unlike an erection, we will not rise again. But like an erection, we will be fondly remembered,” they jokingly added.
Aside from ramen, the restaurant is also popular for its rice rolls and chicken akuma or crispy boneless chicken.
Wrong Ramen is owned by Lowbrow Casual Restaurants, the same group that owns Hole in the Wall and Bad Bird.
