We know where you can watch ‘Train to Busan’ sequel—at PH’s first drive-in cinema in Pampanga

While movie theaters may not be opening their doors anytime soon, there are still ways for people to relive the experience of watching new movies in the cinema. One of these is drive-in movie theaters in parking lots, which allow people to follow social distancing measures by watching a film inside their own cars.

With drive-in cinemas popping up in other parts of the world, we won’t need to wait for long to have the same experience in our country—thanks to SM Cinemas.

A maximum of four passengers are allowed per vehicle. They must be age 21 to 59 and are wearing masks inside their cars while observing social distancing.

Yesterday, July 31, cinephiles drove to SM Pampanga Amphitheater for “Drive In: Movies at Sundown” for its opening screening of the sequel to the 2016 Korean thriller “Train to Busan.”

It is the first of its many screening every weekend at 6:30 p.m. and 8:50 p.m, for its opening weekend. In the succeeding weeks, schedules will be every Thursday to Sundays at 6:45 p.m.

Tickets are priced at P400 per head and available for purchase online at www.smtickets.com. It’s already inclusive of free popcorn, beef franks and bottled water.

A maximum of four passengers per vehicle is allowed and moviegoers must also be between the ages 21 and 59, pursuant to the safety guidelines set by the Inter-agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases. Throughout the screening, viewers are to stay inside their vehicles while wearing their masks and practicing social distancing.

No tickets will be sold at the venue, and viewers are advised to arrive at least 30 minutes before their scheduled screening.
