Makati residents, here’s how you can pay your taxes online

Makati residents who have to complete financial transactions with the local government have been urged to settle these online, and they have recently launched an online payment portal to make this possible.

Mayor Abby Binay announced that Makati residents can now pay their business and real property taxes for the second quarter through the Makatizen Online Assessment and Payment Portal. Payment of taxes for the first quarter, however, will still need to be settled at the City Hall during weekends.

Citizens also have the option to send payments for the second quarter through their GCash account, and real property tax payments made before the deadline of June 25 will be given a five percent discount.

“Since Metro Manila has shifted to general community quarantine (GCQ), this process ensures that Makatizens can complete their financial transactions with City Hall without having to leave their homes and offices,” Binay said. “As much as possible, we also want to minimize the number of people going to the City Hall in order to prevent the spread of COVID-19.”
