During a recent press briefing, the Philippine National Police (PNP) announced that they will be offering their police clearance services in booths at SM Malls nationwide. This will include the application, processing and release of police clearance.
According to chief Gen. Camilo Cascolan, they have finalized plans with the mall chain for the booth installations, and a soft opening is projected to take place within the next two months. These booths for the soft opening will be located in SM Government Service centers at three locations: SM Mall of Asia, SM Bacoor and SM Southmall.
Cascolan said that this move by the PNP is an effort to decongest police camps and installations. Through this, they also hope to make the service more accessible to the public.
The police clearance is often needed in applying for a job and is only valid for six months. Currently, you can register your application information and schedule an appointment to get your police clearance online, but its processing and release are often done in local police stations.
