What does the future hold? Can we ever return to the outside world without fear? Will I have a lover? Will this government ever stop acquiring debts we obviously can’t pay? Will I ever be rich?

These are the pressing questions we have for now and what we often ask fortune-tellers.

Even if we can’t meet in person to get a palm reading, luckily there are online tarot readings for individuals eager to know their future amid the looming darkness and uncertainty that is now.

Well, that or you get your own tarot cards and examine your life. That’s, of course, a bit complicated because, believe it or not, tarot reading is a complex art for the chosen few. Yes, it takes more than interpretative talents to know for sure what a certain card means relative to your life.

But local tarot cards maker Practical Magic wants to demystify that notion and make the practice accessible to beginners and casual readers—starting with a deck designed with vintage photographs of Filipino celebrities from the ’70s like Superstar Nora Aunor and Miss Universe Gloria Diaz.

Apart from offering online reading service, Practical Magic has recently released the Pinoy Practical Magic tarot deck, a whimsical collection of cards, which makes use of colloquial catchphrases to make it easier for novice users to interpret.

It’s composed of 78 cards, plus instructions on how to read tarot in Filipino and a set of stickers of the same designs from the cards. It also comes in a pastel-colored box inscribed with lines from Lupang Hinirang…in jeepney signboard font! I don’t know about you but I believe Liza Soberano when she said, “It doesn’t get any more Filipino than that” or something.

Practical Magic is still accepting pre-orders for P1,800 exclusive of shipping fee.
