Meralco rates to increase this April

This just in: The Manila Electric Company (Meralco) will be increasing its power rates by 6.33 centavos per kilowatt-hour this April due to higher generation charges. To put it into perspective, a typical household that consumes 200 kWh a month will get an additional P13 in their bill this April.

Meanwhile, expect more power interruptions around the metro as Meralco released its maintenance schedule from Apr. 9 to 13. They will mostly be fixing faulty lines and improving its facilities in and out of the metro during this period. Here’s the schedule for affected areas:
